UQ's 10th annual Diversity Week (May 21-25) this year has secured three highly regarded speakers as well as the much sought after media personality, Mr Richard Fidler, as facilitator at the Vice-Chancellor's Equity and Diversity Awards presentation event (24 May).

Mrs Mary Graham, Emeritus Professor Colin Power and Dr James Jupp have all accepted invitations as panelists at the event, discussing this year's theme Unity in Diversity: Dream or Delusion.

Emeritus Professor Colin Power was a former Deputy Director-General and Assistant Director-General for Education, who played a central role in UNESCO's major education initiatives.

Mrs Mary Graham is a philosopher, lecturer, consultant, and previous Queensland Corrective Services Commissioner. Mrs Graham is a Kombu-merri woman, affiliated through her mother with the Waka Waka group.

Dr James Jupp is a highly regarded political scientist and author. He was a former federal government advisor on multicultural affairs.

Winning nominations will be announced at the 2012 Vice-Chancellor's Equity and Diversity Awards presentation event.

This free event is open to all staff, students, their guests, and friends of UQ. The provocative panel discussion will precede the Awards ceremony, followed by networking over cocktails and canapes'.
