Primary Health Care Research
Evaluation and Development
The Primary Health Care Research, Evaluation and Development
(PHCRED) Strategy is a Commonwealth funded program designed
to support strategic primary health care research.
The PHCRED Queensland Collaboration links five University
PHCRED programs at Bond University, Griffith University, James
Cook University, Mount Isa Centre for Rural and Remote Health
and The University of Queensland.
PHC RED is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing under the PHC RED Strategy.

The strategy addresses key health priorities and harnesses
expertise across disciplines and institutions, through funding a
total of $50 million since 2000 to a number of university
departments across Australia. 2011 is the final year of the PHCRED
program and will be replaced in 2012 by Centres of Research
Excellence, three of which have been announced with additional
CRE opportunities to be advertised in early 2011. View details at

PHCRED Queensland delivers educational activities to build
research capacity in teams and individuals working in primary
health care services. We collaborate with State Health and non
government organisations to review research priorities to improve
the health of Queenslanders.

PHCRED in Queensland
