Brisbane business management student Natasha Shami credits last year’s University of Queensland OP Results Advice Night for her smooth transition from high school to a degree she loves.

OP Results Advice Night, on Monday 22 December, is an opportunity for students to learn more about study options after they get their OP results.

Natasha attended the event after graduating from high school last year, seeking advice on what to do next.

“I had just received my OP, and although I was sure I wanted to go to UQ, I wanted to listen to a student’s perspective about the degree,” she said.

“Speaking to staff and students from the University gave me insight into university life and the degree that I wanted to do.

“In hindsight, the night didn’t just help with my degree choice, but also with my transition to university.

“I felt more confident about pursuing tertiary education.”

OP Results Advice Night gives students and families the chance to speak face-to-face with experts from all study areas.

Staff can help prospective students find pathways to their desired program, and can provide advice on changing preferences, entry requirements, scholarships and QTAC processes.

Student ambassadors will operate campus tours, providing an opportunity to see and experience the wide range of facilities and services UQ has to offer.

Take a look at the seminar schedule and pre-register to attend the event.

Those who can’t make it on the night can still talk to staff about study options through an online chat. Send a message on Facebook or email youradvantage@uq.edu.au between 5pm and 7pm on Monday.
