Several University of Queensland academics are available to help analyse political issues in the lead up to the Federal Election on November 24.

Dr Ian Ward (07 3365 2662) is an expert in political advertising who can help put perspective on the estimated $50 million advertising blitz during the next six weeks.

Dr Ward also specialises in political parties and elections and political campaigning methods and technologies and mass media and politics.

Queensland political commentator Associate Professor Paul Reynolds (07 3365 3308) specialises in State and Federal politics, elections and parliament.

Dr Rae Wear (07 3820 9071 during business hours) areas of expertise are political leadership, populism, State and Federal politics, the National Party and rural politics.

Head of the UQ Business School Professor Tim Brailsford (07 3365 6225) can comment on a range of financial implications, particularly in relation to corporate finance and investments.

One of Australia's leading and most widely published economists, Professor John Quiggin (0400 485 202, 07 3346 9646) is an expert in many areas of Australian economic policy, also in climate change and water issues.

Other economics experts include Professor John Mangan (0409 879 239, 07 3365 6312), who can comment on labour economics, industrial economics, taxation policy and state and regional economics.

Public administration expert Professor Ken Wiltshire (07 3365 2733) can discuss issues relating to government-business relations.

Associate Professor Geoff Dow (07 3365 3103) is an expert on economic policy debates (taxation, wages, industrial policy), political sociology (state intervention, state institutions, social democracy, state capacity) and the political economy.

Dr Bruce Littleboy (07 3365 6573) is an expert on macroeconomics, economic philosophy, economics and culture, interest rates and political economy.
