Event Description

Full Description:
The University of Queensland is again taking part in The Push-Up Challenge. We are going to help shine the spotlight on the number of lives lost to suicide in 2021 and raise awareness of mental health. Create or join a team of up to 10 people as part of the UQ Community and help us push for better mental health.

Between June 1 to 23, the goal is to complete 3,144 push-ups in acknowledgement of the number of lives lost to suicide in 2021. The daily push-up target changes each day to reflect a vital mental health statistic, so along the way you’ll learn about mental health.

This is a lot, so if you want to aim for half of the target instead, that’s ok too. You're also welcome to do alternative exercises (sit-ups, squats, etc.) if push-ups aren't for you. Get fit, have fun and learn about mental health by taking part in The Push-Up Challenge 2023.

UQ teams have the option to raise funds for Lifeline. This is not mandatory however, the team that raises the most money by the end of the challenge will win a massage therapist in the workplace for a day!

To get involved:
• Go to our UQ Community page - see URL above
• Create or join a team of up to 10 people within our Community.
• Start prepping yourself, get others involved and raise money!
• 1-23 June: Get pushin’ – event details to come
