Full Description:
For the first part of this themed-seminar, three presentations about Obesity and FAtness will be given to outline what HMNS Researchers are investigating, and what opportunities for potential collaborations are.

“Triple T: Tolerance, Treatment and Translation”, presented by Prof Helen Truby, will focus on current management of adolescent’s who are seeking weight loss, gaps and opportunities for research and practice. It will explore the adolescents’ perceptions and desires and expectations of health professionals involved in weight management.

“Social science and obesity: a few thoughts about potential inter-disciplinary work around obesity and fatness”, presented by A/Prof Michael Gard.

“What’s happening to women’s weight”, presented by Prof Wendy Brown, which will focus on the increasing weight of participants in the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health over 22 years, selected health outcomes associated with this, and implications/strategies for obesity prevention.
