Event Description
- Full Description:
- G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) constitute one of the largest gene families in the human genome and are targeted by ~30% of markedet drugs. About half of the ~800 human GPCRs encode olfactory receptors whereas the other half are activated by a broad range of endogenous signaling molecules/hormones. Approximately 1/3 of the latter group is considered as 'orphan' receptors without known endogenous ligands or physiological function.
