Event Description

Full Description:
How important is music education in the lives of individuals and communities? How does music positively affect children and young adults with Special Education Needs? What facilitates and constrains music education in Australia? Join us to hear our expert panel explore these questions and more.

Supported by the School of Music's, Creative Collaboratorium, this presentation will bring together three global leaders in music education. Join Professor Graham Welch, University College London, Institute of Education, Richard Gill OAM and Professor Margaret Barrett, The University of Queensland, as they demonstrate the ways in which music education provides positive life and learning outcomes for participants.

This presentation will report on how music research originating in the United Kingdom and Australia is having a global impact and the value of music making in young people's lives.
