Title: 'Functional Connectomics: understanding neural network integration in C. elegans'

The connection matrix of the brain is the foundation of brain functions. Increasing efforts have been devoted into mapping comprehensive maps of neural connections in different species. As a critical milestone in the field of connectomics, the complete structure and connectivity of the C. elegans nervous system was finished in 1986. However, after more than 30 years, we still don’t know much about how C. elegans wiring diagram encodes diverse behaviours. This is due to the lack of functional connetomic knowledge. My talk will introduce some key approaches as well as research progress in my group in study functional connectomics in C. elegans.
