Event Description

Full Description:
UQ's Centre for Marine Science is pleased to invite you to a special screening of award-winning Director Damon Gameau’s thought provoking new film 2040, followed by a Q&A and panel discussion with UQ experts!

2040 is a “journey to explore what the future could look like by the year 2040 if we simply embraced the best [climate change] solutions already available to us”.

Following the film screening, join our esteemed host Dr John Dwyer from the School of Biological Sciences as he talks with our expert panel: Prof. Bernie Degnan, Director of the Centre for Marine Science, Assoc. Prof. Kate O'Brien, the chemical-environmental engineering program lead at UQ, Prof. Karen Hussey, Director of the Centre for Policy Futures, Prof. Ben Hankamer, Director of the Centre for Solar Biotechnology and last but certainly not least, Prof. Catherine Lovelock whose research focusses on the influence of environmental change, including climate change, on the ecology of coastal and marine plant communities.
