Event Description

Full Description:
The International Study of Childhood Obesity, Lifestyle and the Environment (ISCOLE) is a collaboration among scientists from 12 countries representing every inhabited continent. The participating countries span a wide range of socioeconomic and human development, as well as geographic and cultural diversity. The primary aims of the study are to identify the behavioral correlates of obesity and to investigate the influence of behavioral, physical, social and policy settings on relationships between lifestyle characteristics and obesity in a multi-national study of children.

This talk will be presented by Prof Peter Katzmarzyk, the Associate Executive Director for Population and Public Health Sciences at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA. Prof Katzmarzyk holds the Marie Edana Corcoran Endowed Chair in Pediatric Obesity and Diabetes.
