Full Description:
The Sustainable Minerals Institute will host a seminar by Mr Stephen Hagan, Managing Director of First Nations Telegraph titled 'The Whiteness of Native Title: A personal perspective'. This seminar will examine how Whiteness explains the failure of the native title process for traditional owners.

Stephen Hagan, BA MBA PhD Candidate is a Kullilli traditional owner from southwest Queensland, Managing Editor, First Nations Telegraph, former lecturer, diplomat, 2006 NAIDOC Person of the Year, an award winning author, multi-award winning film maker, national columnist and internationally acclaimed commentator on race relations.

Stephen was elected Chair of the Kullilli Bulloo River Aboriginal Corporation after his tribe’s Native Title determination in July 2014. In early June this year he was also elected co-Chair of the inaugural PBC National Council, by over 200 delegates from 46 Prescribed Body Corporates, at the National Native Title Conference in Port Douglas.
