Event Description

Full Description:
Hosting Professor Robert Faff explores a methodical approach to pitching a new research proposal. Professor Faff is a Professor in Finance and Director of Research at The University of Queensland.

The emphasis is given to providing general advice to both “pitchers “and “pitchees”. He will introduce in this seminar an update on an extensive array of supplementary online resources. The seminar is designed to help new (and not so new) researchers decide:
HOW you know when you have a good topic?
WHAT basic elements of information do you need to cover to convince an experienced researcher
of the value of your topic?
IS there a simple and effective way to “pitch” your topic?

The theme for the workshop builds on Professor Faff’s recent publication “Pitching Research”. The paper can be downloaded here:

Interested members can attend the FREE seminar on Tuesday 14 April, 2015 at either 12.00--1.30pm or 1.30--3.00pm, General Purpose Building(# 78), room 343.
