- The UQ Energy Initiative is pleased to announce its inaugural UQEI Energy Perspectives 2014 conference. The annual conference provides business and community leaders, researchers, policy makers and members of the public with an insight into the grand challenges facing us as we move forward and embrace our energy future.
From emissions reduction pathways, the carbon budget and low-emission technologies to electricity pricing, liquid fuel security, and energy literacy, this year’s inaugural event will consider the big issues impacting not only Australia but the world.
In addition to our UQ Energy Experts, the UQ Energy Initiative is pleased to welcome a number of guest speakers, including:
- Mr Ian Cronshaw, Head of Gas, Coal and Power Markets Division at the International Energy Agency
- Dr Ron Loveland, Energy Advisor to the Welsh Government
- Mr Robert Pritchard, Executive Director of the Energy Policy Institute of Australia

This will be a memorable trip into the future as our experts discuss and debate the potential ramifications of our current and future energy choices.
The all-day conferemce will be held on Thursday 20 November 2014 in the Advanced Engineering Building, GHD Auditorium, with registration and morning refreshments from 7:30am, and networking drinks from 5:30-6:30pm.
