Event Description

Full Description:
This seminar paper details the circumstances that catapulted me into the making of a UQ MOOC and the ongoing experience as the launch date looms.

Topics covered include the history of the MOOC movement, the UQ initiative in joining the edX MOOC consortium, the call for expressions of interest, my rationale for going ahead with the proposed MOOC, the potential for the MOOC to augment the oncampus grammar course that has close to 200 students enrolled this semester, and the process of developing the materials and activities for the MOOC, WRITE 101x (which morphed from GRAMMAR 101x, under pressure from my fellow MOOCers in this second round of UQx MOOCS).

All are welcome, this event is open to the public, staff and students. Feel free to bring your lunch with you to the seminar, if you're on your lunch break.
