Course description

This course aims to prepare students for working with children who attend mainstream primary and secondary schools. The course will consider the impact of later language development and skill on the acquisition of literacy and achievement of academic success. Students will understand language, listening and literacy development within the context of the classroom environment and the demands of academic curricula. The course has a clinical focus whereby practical applications of assessments and evidence-based language and literacy interventions will be studied.
