Course description

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to a range of psychological issues that impact on the learning and behaviour of school students and to demonstrate how psychological theories help to explain issues in schooling. The course provides a background to those considering future professional involvement with school students. Content includes growth and development, promoting effective teaching and learning, motivation and self-regulation, classroom management, implications of individual differences, and understanding social and emotional growth and mental health issues.
