Course description

Safety related incidents still account for an unacceptably high number of injuries and deaths in the workplace. Professionals with responsibilities in the area of occupational health and safety are required to have the ability to identify, critically evaluate and propose methods to prevent or minimise the severity of safety related incidents including those resulting from fires and explosions, the failure or inadequate guarding of plant, processes and structures. This Course has been designed to provide an in-depth study of the hazards associated with machinery and materials failure and the hazards commonly encountered in the manufacturing, transport, construction and mining industries.
