Course description

The major health & social problems associated with ageing will be covered. Students will re-visit the rights of the older person in relation to health care & the ethical & legal issues in relation to care of a person with dementia. Students will learn about the range of care provided for the elderly & disabled in the community including informal care in the family & the impact of caring for the elderly & disabled on the health & lives of the carers.
