Course description

This course will only be offered externally in semester 1 2014. This course consists of a practicum designed for those interested in opportunities to examine the multiplicity of roles played by support teachers in schools. It consists of a work-shadowing activity so that students in the course will become familiar with the expectations of and policies and procedures required by education authorities and/or school principals in relation to supporting learners with learning difficulties or who are underachieving. Students will participate in activities that characterise support teachers' roles including planning and implementation of programs for students with learning difficulties or who are underachieving as well as consulting and working with teachers, administrators and parents. This course may not be offered internally if the enrolment is less than 10 students.
