Course description

General survey of civilisation of ancient Egypt & Mesopotamia. Introduction to translations of the ancient sources of information about 'hydraulic civilsations' whose way of life was based upon their ability to control the flooding of great rivers and the production of cereal crops. This course may not run if there are fewer than 20 enrolments
