Once you have accepted your offer to study at UQ your next step is to activate your student account so you can access the University’s online services and your UQ student email account.

Domestic undergraduate students 
(if you received your offer from QTAC)

International and postgraduate students 
(if you received your offer directly from the University)

  1. Log in to QTAC’s Current Applicant Online Services;
  2. Select the “Enrol at UQ” button;
  3. Follow the steps.
  1. You will be sent an email with an activation link once you accept your offer;
  2. Select the link in the email;
  3. Follow the steps.

Once you have set up a secure password and security question your UQ Sign-In will become active and you will be able to proceed with your enrolment.

What is my student account?

Your student account is made up of a username and password, known as your UQ Sign-In.

Your username will commence with a lower case ‘s’ followed by the first 7 digits of your student number. For example, if your student number is 12345678, your UQ Sign-In username will be: s1234567.

When do I receive my student number?

You will receive your student number and username by email once you have accepted your offer to study at UQ.

What can I access with my student account?

Your UQ Sign-In enables you to access computers on campus and a range of online services, including:

  • my.UQ
    A gateway to all the online services and resources you need as a student. Includes:
    • myStudy
      Displays your personalised online resources to support your studies, including e-learning/Blackboard, course notes, past exams, purchasing text books and more.
       
    • myMail+
      Your UQ Email+ for Life account.
       
  • mySI-net
    Your enrolment portal where you maintain your personal details, add courses, organise your timetable, pay fees, view results and more.

UQconnect Email+ for Life is a free, user-friendly, name based email address that you will have ‘for life’, meaning you can continue to use it after you finish studying at UQ.

Your Email+ for Life address is automatically generated from your personal details in mySI-net and will be in the following format: firstname.lastnamexx@uq.net.au (where xx may be a number)

You access Email+ for Life account via the myMail+ interface on my.UQ.

It is important that you check your UQ email account regularly as it is the University’s official means of communicating with you on matters such as enrolment and fee deadlines. Your lecturers and tutors will also contact you via this email account.
