UQ News RSS Channels
Important Term of Use: Please make sure that your reader is configured to look for updates no more frequently than every hour. These feeds update only once a day, so looking for changes less frequently is recommended. These channels are for personal use and only in news reader applications. You may not publish headlines from these channels to a web page.
What is RSS?
RSS is an acronym for Really Simple Syndication. It is an XML format designed for sharing web content like news headlines and announcements. An RSS service consists of a list of items, each of which contains a headline, date, description, and a link to a web page. For the UQ News RSS service, the full content, such as a full-text description is made available in the RSS service. The web link will take you to the full description on the UQ News website.
How do I use RSS?
You will need an RSS news reader or aggregator or scripts (PHP, ASP, etc) that will allow you to collect and display the RSS service. RSS news readers allow you to view the service you select in one location and, by automatically retrieving updates, stay current with newly published content.
Set up your news reader or scripts before you use UQ News RSS. To subscribe to UQ News RSS, right-click on one of the RSS Links and select "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Link Location" to copy the location (URL) of the service. Paste this copied location to the location of the service you wish to subscribe to on the news reader or scripts.
