University of Queensland researchers are calling for volunteers to take part in a project looking at public bus transport in Brisbane.
Researchers from School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences would like to hear from people who live in the northern suburbs of Brisbane with their ideas, comments, concerns, and stories of public buses.
The study, funded by the Australian Research Council, Queensland Transport and the Queensland Department of Communities, requires 140 volunteers under 60 years and 140 volunteers over 60 years.
Researcher Sonya Faint said both men and women were needed for the research and anyone was welcome to join the study whether they caught a bus everyday or once in a blue moon.
“The population of Australia is ageing, and it is important to provide suitable public transport services for all,” Ms Faint said.
“Our research aims to answer two questions: how can we improve public bus transport for older people and could these improvements also help younger people?”
She said volunteers would participate in one small discussion group and complete two short questionnaires.
Anyone interested in taking part in the study, or wanting further information can contact Sonya or Rachel on 3346 7485.
