Two people have been discharged from RBWH hospitals after reporting feeling unwell at The University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus this morning.

Emergency response teams from the University and external authorities treated the report of the two illnesses seriously and investigated a suspected gas leak in the Goddard Building, which was immediately evacuated.

However, air monitoring showed no measurable signs of a leak and the building was subsequently declared safe for occupancy at 10.25 am.

There was an excellent emergency response from within the University and also from external agencies including the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, the Chemical Hazards and Emergency Management services (CHEM services), Queensland Police, Queensland Ambulance and Queensland Workplace Health and Safety.
