The Queensland Tennis Centre in Tennyson held its annual Sign-on Day last Sunday, July 11.
Venue manager, UQ Sport, held the event to provide the Brisbane tennis community with a taste of what to expect during the upcoming season.
Participants were given the chance to explore the facilities, trial the coaching programs, meet the centre’s coaches and have a free hit on court.
The day was a great success, attracting more than 180 people from a wide variety of age groups and ability levels.
Those who enrolled on the day won five free hours of court hire and free entry into a Sunday morning social tennis session.
Queensland Tennis Centre Head Coach, Derek Burden, said he was pleased with how many people came along and got involved in the event.
“Plenty of people took the opportunity for free court use on the day, so there was plenty of action going on over the course of the afternoon,” Mr Burden said.
With over 150 new enrolments on the day, the upcoming tennis season is set to be one of the biggest ever at the Queensland Tennis Centre.
UQ Sport would like to thank everyone who came and supported the event and looks forward to a fun and exciting season.
