Message from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Joanne Wright

The University of Queensland apologises unreservedly to approximately 400 prospective students who were incorrectly offered a 2014 UQ-Link Access Scholarship on Christmas Eve.

These offers were inadvertently made through an administrative error.

Only a limited number of scholarships are available each year and these are awarded in order of academic merit to approved UQ-Link Access students.

Affected prospective students were notified of the error yesterday and were sent an apology.  The University is attempting to make individual contact by phone today.

The University regrets any disappointment or distress caused by this error.

Prospective students who have been affected by the situation can contact our Undergraduate Scholarships Office at ugscholarships@uq.edu.au or 07 3365 7113, if they would like to speak to someone in person about their application or options.

All students approved for the UQ-Link Access program will still have five bonus ranks applied to any UQ preferences and will be eligible to receive a $500 start-up bursary should they be offered a place and enrol at UQ in semester 1, 2014.
