The University of Queensland has jumped five places to be ranked 33rd in the world in the National Taiwan University (NTU) Ranking.

UQ is in the top 50 universities in the world in 12 subjects, with Environment/Ecology (4), Environmental Science and Engineering (8) and Agricultural Sciences (12).

Other global top 50 subjects at UQ include Pharmacology and Toxicology (13), Microbiology (14), Plant & Animal Science (16), Social Sciences (18), Biology and Biochemistry (21), Psychiatry/Psychology (27), Chemical Engineering (29), Economics and Business (36) and Immunology (45).

In Australia, UQ is first in Agricultural Sciences, Environment/Ecology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Environmental Science and Engineering in the NTU results.

Also known as the Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities, NTU ranks by 6 fields and 27 selected subjects  based on research excellence, productivity and impact.
