As Queensland students anxiously await their OP results tomorrow, The University of Queensland is offering a range of new undergraduate and postgraduate study options in response to international and local demand.

Undergraduate

The new industry-embedded Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours) undergraduate degree offers eight majors and is designed for high-achieving students.

Students interested in cyber security, data science, machine learning, programming languages, and scientific computing can enrol in a Bachelor of Computer Science.

Students can also study a MicroMasters in Sustainable Energy via UQx.

Students can now directly enter the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) / Master of Engineering in their first year, enabling high-achieving students to pursue specialist content right from the beginning of their degree.

Postgraduate

A new dual degree, the Master of International Relations/ Master of Peace and Conflict Studies, will allow students to develop specialised skills and knowledge of critical issues and debates relating to conflict, and conflict resolution and peacebuilding.

Entrepreneurs and professionals can enrol in the Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation to explore developing products and services, commercialisation, and operating a lean, start-up model.

The Masters of Development Economics/Master of Economics and Public Policy will give students a deep understanding of economic development theory, combined with an understanding of how government policy is developed and implemented.

The new Masters of International Economics and Finance/Master of Commerce offers students the opportunity to combine high-level finance study with advanced study of international trade, economic evaluation techniques and quantitative skills.

The Master of Engineering and Master of Engineering Science now offer majors, including a Fire Safety Engineering major for the Master of Engineering Science.

Other study options

Mining discipline managers can enrol in Mining Leaders Program, a blended learning professional development program that offers credit and pathways towards the existing Graduate Certificate in Executive Leadership and MBA qualifications.

Professionals requiring more in-depth knowledge hybrid medical imaging systems can enrol in full-time study next year for the Graduate Certificate in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Positron Emission Tomography.
