About 120 young science enthusiasts from high schools in south-east Queensland discovered the breadth and depth of science on offer at UQ this week.
Year 10 and 11 students joined workshops in maths, physics, genetics, neuroscience, anatomy, astronomy, health and safety science, agriculture and nanotechnology during the ConocoPhillips Science Experience from 14-16 January.
They met researchers, heard from some of the University’s top scientists and displayed their scientific prowess in a science relay quiz.
The program is designed to provide students interested in science with an opportunity to engage in a wide range of fascinating science activities under the guidance of scientists who love their work.
