Peter Høj, Vice-Chancellor, The University of Queensland, confirms there are more places available for new students to join the UQ community in 2013.

“UQ is committed to providing opportunities to more Queenslanders to expand their horizons and skills and has therefore created additional places for new students this year,” said Professor Høj.

“UQ, one of the world’s top-ranked universities, offers students a world-class education and the ability to shape their studies to their future career goals.

“UQ has room to grow after our significant investment in new state-of-the-art facilities and with opportunities to participate in volunteering, study abroad, research projects and leadership programs. We can offer more than just a degree.

Prospective students still have until Wednesday January 23, 2013 to apply through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) for the February offer round. Those who have already applied have until February 1, 2013 to change their preferences to The University of Queensland.

“I congratulate the 9,287 new students who were offered a place at UQ this week and welcome them to the UQ community,” said Professor Høj.
