University of Queensland agribusiness student Josh Rich recently organised The UQ Gatton Walkway Markets as part of his work experience.

Mr Rich worked alongside Marketing and Communication Co-ordinator Erin Pearl for ten days as part of his work placement for the Bachelor of Agribusiness.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learnt a lot along the way,” Mr Rich said.

“I chose to do my work experience in marketing as I am very keen to go into a marketing and sales role in the agribusiness field,” he said.

“Being able to organise the Walkway Markets from start to finish gave me insight into event planning, marketing, media writing and building relationships with all the stallholders. It was great to see all my hard work pay off on the day."

As part of the agribusiness degree, Mr Rich also travelled to China with fellow students to complete a market research project.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my degree and it has given me a large number of practical skills which I look forward to using once I enter the workforce,” he said.

Stallholders exhibiting at the UQ Gatton Walkway Markets included Elizabeth Jean Jewellery, The Popcorn Man, Aunty Mu’s Soaps, Country Bows, Di’s Plants, Dadz Farm, Timeless Timber, Owl on Oak, Pop-Up Pillows, Lila-Jean Jewellery, Luscious Candle Creations and many more.
