The University of Queensland has been advised that the Eleanor Schonell Bridge between St Lucia and Dutton Park will have its five year cable inspection between September 24 and September 28 September during daylight hours, weather permitting.

This maintenance activity has been in the planning stage for 12 months.

There will be small delays, as the bridge at times will be down to one lane on the busway, with reduced widths on the cycleway and pedestrian walkway.

Traffic control with signage will be in place with a stop and go arrangement.

The cable covers will be removed for inspection.

There will be boomlift and a small crane at times.

The work has been planned for these dates after discussions between the University and Brisbane Transport.

The work is being conducted during the University break to reduce inconvenience, and these dates will have the lowest impact.

Apologies to the University community for any inconvenience.

Signage will be placed on the bridge in the next week to notify users of possible delays.
