Potential students passionate about a career in Agriculture, Animals, Veterinary Science or Agribusiness should head to the UQ Gatton Open Day on Sunday 19 August from 9.30am – 3pm.

On the day you will have the opportunity to explore the residential accommodation and sporting venues, tour the veterinary science facilities, dairy and equine unit and see live demonstrations of a farrier shoeing a horse.

Director of the Gatton Campus, Janelle Zahmel encourages members of the community to come along on the day.

“Students, lecturers and industry representatives will be available to chat to about all of the exciting and diverse careers in the fields of Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animals and Veterinary Science,” Ms Zahmel said.

“We also have a number of industry representatives coming along on the day so that you can see some of the organisations you could work for once you have completed your studies.”

“This year we have a number of research organisations represented from the UQ Gatton Centre for Advanced Animal Science (CAAS), Gatton Research Dairy and the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI).”

There will also be music and an array of dining options including international and traditional cuisines within the UQ Food Court.

Free parking is available on campus all day and the Open Day will run from 9.30am-3pm.

Visitors can plan their own personalised itinerary of activities via the Open Day website at youruq.com/openday
