UQ Annual Fund Appeal 2012

The University of Queensland acknowledges that an error occurred in the mail out of letters to its alumni and community for its annual fund appeal.

The University thanks donors for every gift before seeking future support.

However, a number of people who had not made a bequest incorrectly received thank you letters and information about the annual appeal.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Relations) Professor Ian Zimmer said he was sorry that the error had occurred.

The University was acting swiftly to correct the mistake by sending an email apologising and clarifying the matter to those affected.

The University’s mail house was also assisting the University to rectify the mistake.

“UQ is immensely grateful to the many people who support it every year, enabling so many important initiatives including funding for scholarships for students, and funds for research to benefit society,” he said.
