The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) is pleased to announce the winner of the inaugural Brain Awareness Video Contest is University of Queensland’s Shiree Heath, a graduate student in Dr David Copland’s Language Neuroscience Laboratory.

As first place winner, Ms Heath will receive a $1,000 cash prize as well as recognition at and a trip to The Society's annual meeting in Washington DC from November 12–16. A formal press release can be found here.

The goal of the Brain Awareness Video Contest was to solicit original videos to educate primary school age children about the brain and nervous system in exciting and new ways. Ms Heath’s video will serve as wonderful educational tool.

SfN will also display all entries from September 29 to October 15 for the Brain Awareness People’s Choice Award contest. Click here to watch the videos.
