UQ Accommodation Services have produced a new series of videos to help students navigate the rental process with ease.

Renting Made Easy aims to cover common issues including how to find somewhere to live, sharing a house with other tenants, legal issues associated with renting and what happens when it is time to move out.

UQ Accommodation Services Accommodation Coordinator Andri van Zyl said the video was designed to answer everyday questions around renting in Queensland.

“We see students struggling with the same issues every semester, and this video is a straightforward way of explaining the basics of renting,” Ms van Zyl said.

“Hopefully this video will help students avoid some of the most common pitfalls around renting, so they will have more time and energy to get on with enjoying their uni life.

“While Accommodation Services staff will continue to be there to answer students’ questions, this video should be a great starting point for anyone who is confused by or feeling unsure about the rental process.”

UQ Accommodation Services is a branch of Student Services, and helps students find accommodation through official housing partners and the private rental market, as well as UQ’s residential colleges.

The video was funded by the Residential Tenancies Authority and produced by the Media and Production Services team in UQ’s School of Journalism and Communication.
