The Boxing Day Tsunami caused 82 deaths and displaced more than 15,000 people in the island nation of the Maldives.
It also created one of the greatest challenges in Aminath Ahmed Shihab’s professional life.
She was working as the assistant director of marketing at the Maldives Tourism Promotion Board when the tsunami hit in 2004.
After going into crisis management mode and reading headlines from around the world about the tsunami, she decided to take on further studies.
