Young leaders from around the country will converge on UQ this weekend to make positive changes for themselves and their communities.

The 42nd Conference of the National Association of Australian University Colleges (NAAUC) will be held at Emmanuel College, St Lucia from July 4-11, involving 250 delegates.

This year, the conference theme is “Take Charge, Take a Chance and be the Change”.

More than 2500 students make up the UQ college community, with Australian universities housing approximately 40,000 residents in total.

International House student and Assistant Conference Director Fraser Orford said the goal of the event is to equip delegates with the skills, knowledge and networks to both envision and manage the future.

Keynote speakers include Dr Phil Jauncey, who will discuss the power of positive actions, body language expert Allan Pease and Hugh Evans who will provide delegates with the skills to effectively handle complex situations and decisions.

The NAAUC Conference is being held shortly after the University’s Centenary Alumni Reunion Weekend, which will welcome thousands of UQ graduates to the St Lucia campus from July 2–4.
