Some of the St Lucia Open Day tours include: the RD Milns Antiquities Museum, UQ Sport, the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB), the UQ Anatomy Museum and the University Art Museum.

UQ Student Recruitment Manager Steve Forster said Open Day was the perfect opportunity for students and their families to gain an insight into university life at UQ.

Mr Forster said students could also plan their own personalised itinerary of activities via the Open Day website at www.youruq.com/openday/.

“Staff and current students will be on hand to answer questions as well as provide useful advice on how to begin studies at UQ in 2010,” Mr Forster said.

Visitors to Open Day can also walk on water as part of the Oobleck experiment (Great Court), be an on-the-spot reporter and report the news live in the UQ Centre, as well as view the new UQ Journalism and Communication facilities (Joyce Ackroyd Building, Level 2).

Animal lovers can attend the UQ Small Animal Clinic and participate in hospital tours, view vet pathology and anatomy displays as well as attend the Faculty of Natural Resources, Agriculture and Veterinary Science (NRAVS) village in the Great Court.
