UQ Business School expert Dr Tim Kastelle will teach a masterclass in innovation entitled Innovation: More than just iPhones during Brisbane’s CitySmart Innovation Festival 2009.

Dr Kastelle said the masterclass, to be held on Monday, May 25 from 5-7pm at Brisbane Square, would highlight the range of ways companies can and do innovate.

"Many companies think that if they’re not inventing the latest electronic gadget they aren't innovative," he said.

"In fact, there are many ways that firms can innovate and the purpose of this masterclass is to discuss the different ways that innovation can occur.

"It is critical that firms continue to innovate, even in testing times, and I hope the masterclass will encourage and inspire participants."

The masterclass presented by Dr Kastelle will be held at level 16, Brisbane Square, 266 George Street.

Dr Kastelle lectures in Innovation Management and also shares his expertise with participants on the School’s Corporate Education course in Innovation Leadership.
