The University has been advised by TransLink that all Brisbane River CityCat and cross-river services have been cancelled from 6pm tonight until Tuesday due to the large amount of debris in the river after this week’s storms.

The last upstream CityCat service will depart Riverside for The University of Queensland at 6.02pm. The last downstream CityCat service will depart Riverside for Apollo Road at 6pm.

All CityCat and CityFerry services are suspended across the weekend and are expected to resume at 5.30am on Tuesday, November 25 — unless services can safely resume earlier.

Debris from flooding to the west of Brisbane is expected to come downstream over coming days, which could cause a safety hazard for the vessels.

TransLink apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

Shuttle buses have been organised to transport passengers from Riverside and North Quay to Hawthorne and Bulimba, this evening.

• Departing Riverside via QUT Gardens Point
Buses depart Riverside Centre (Eagle Street bus stop 152) at 6pm, and QUT Gardens Point (Alice Street bus stop 95) and set-down at Mowbray Park (bus stop 12/14 ‘East Brisbane Bowls’, Lytton Road), Hawthorne (Lindsay Street at Gordon Street) and Bulimba ferry terminal (Oxford Street).
Buses will operate on a loop basis every 20 minutes until the last service departs Riverside at about 8pm.

• Departing North Quay
Buses depart North Quay (William Street bus stop 103) at 5.40pm, and set-down at Mowbray Park (bus stop 12/14 ‘East Brisbane Bowls’, Lytton Road), Hawthorne (Lindsay Street at Gordon Street) and Bulimba ferry terminal (Oxford Street).
Buses will operate on a loop basis every 20 minutes until the last service departs North Quay at about 8pm.

Other areas serviced by CityCats already have access to high frequency bus services.

Shuttle buses will not run over the weekend but will run on Monday morning from Hawthorne and Bulimba between 6am-9am.
