14 August 2007

CEO of The Smith Family Elaine Henry will talk about surviving turbulent times when she addresses UQ Business School’s CEO Summit on Friday, August 24.

Listed in the August issue of Boss Magazine as a "true leader", Ms Henry was selected for her "path breaking" leadership and her "ability to transform a traditional Not-for-Profit (NFP) into a professionally run organisation.”

The judging panel also highlighted her ability "to lead The Smith Family through a seachange to the point where it has become an organisation focused on educational outcomes and opportunities."

With the result of her work considered "a template for the NFP sector", Ms Henry is ideally positioned to address the theme of the 2007 CEO Summit.

The Leadership Allsorts theme reflects the diversity of contexts in which great leaders work – from listed multinational companies to highly effective NFPs, start-ups to sporting icons, media organisations to the arts.

Ms Henry – who will share the stage with Managing Director of The Queensland Orchestra Michael Smith for a panel presentation on surviving turbulent times – will join a line-up featuring Foxtel CEO Kim Williams AM, BRW Managing Editor Peter Roberts, Broncos Chairman Darryl Somerville, and Tammy Halter, CEO of Absolute Data Group and a QBR Queensland Business Woman of the Year.
