The new way to network for Brisbane professionals, innovators and entrepreneurs, Speed Networking for Business is on again, Thursday August 23, from 6pm.

Following the success of the first event in March, where record numbers registered to participate, UQ Business School (UQBS) Alumni Association will again present this fast-paced networking event.

Speed Networking for Business is an energetic way to build useful connections, just by taking a few minutes to talk with each person in the room.

"The idea of the event is to meet as many people as possible and get to the core purpose of networking as quickly as possible," Peter Moutsatsos said.

Mr Moutsatsos is the UQBS Alumni President and the event is his brainchild.

"Our first event was full of energy, fun and fast-paced, and we know the next one will be even better," he said.

"We had people travelling from the Gold Coast and the Brisbane Valley to participate in our last event, and one participant was based in north Queensland, so we are definitely filling a need."

Mr Moutsatsos said that speed networking allowed people to spread their messages to everyone in the room in a very efficient way, getting maximum return for investment in networking time.

"You come away armed with business cards that may represent new clients, prospects, new business partners, new services providers," he said.

Speed Networking for Business brings together representatives from small business, corporations, innovators and entrepreneurs in Brisbane.

"Registrations already suggest we will have many people participating from different sectors and backgrounds; we welcome everyone interested in developing new and useful connections," Mr Moutsatsos said.

The UQ Business School Alumni Association has some useful suggestions for speed networking participants on the night on their website, including:

> Think through key messages about your product or service, your business idea or what you want to gain or give to the meeting; and

> Bring plenty of business cards.

Mr Moutsatsos said that blank cards would be provided on the night, along with two drinks, finger food and door prizes, all for $30.
