University of Queensland staff will be preparing hard, staying up late and cramming in all the important facts for when the tables are turned and future students get the chance to examine the University at UQ’s Open Days in August.
Campus tours, academic program presentations and scholarship information sessions will be part of the UQ Open Days at the St Lucia, Ipswich and Gatton campuses.
New activities also are planned for 2007 including a treasure hunt at St Lucia, computer games at Ipswich and environmental park tours at Gatton.
UQ Vice-Chancellor Professor John Hay, AC, said Open Days provided the perfect opportunity for people thinking about enrolling at university to talk to staff, tour the facilities and find out about program offerings.
“We invite everybody to experience our beautiful campuses first hand and chat to staff and students about what you can expect to find here,” he said.
“With activities and demonstrations taking place at St Lucia, Ipswich and Gatton, you will get a real sense of what it’s like to be a student at one of Australia’s leading universities.”
The University offers the most comprehensive range of high-quality programs in Queensland and encourages innovative teaching to meet the academic and professional needs of students.
