Thinking of attending university in 2007?
The University of Queensland is inviting potential students to examine it closely at open days at its three campuses at St Lucia, Ipswich and Gatton in August.
UQ Vice-Chancellor Professor John Hay AC said that before students invested years of their lives in a university, it made sense to examine staff, facilities and offerings.
“UQ has many advantages to offer prospective students,” he said.
“We invite students to experience our beautiful campuses first hand and chat to staff and students about what they can expect to find here.
“We are the top Australian university in teaching and one of the top three universities in Australia in research, with the best rating of all Queensland universities, in The Good Universities Guides.
“UQ is ranked in the top 50 universities in the world in The Times Higher Education supplement world rankings.
“UQ has also won far more national teaching awards than any other Australian university.
“We are also a member of Australia’s Group of Eight leading universities which conducts 70 percent of all university research in Australia.
“The University of Queensland is one of only three Australian members of Universitas 21, an international network of comprehensive, research-intensive universities committed to quality through benchmarking against world-best practice.”
The University welcomes prospective students to the UQ St Lucia Open Day to be held on Sunday, August 6 (10am to 4pm); UQ Ipswich Open Day on Sunday, August 20 (10am-2pm) and the UQ Gatton Open Day on Sunday, August 27 (9:30am-3pm).
