Jazz great James Morrison and his six-piece band will transform the Brisbane Convention Centre into a ritzy casino for a charity performance on December 11.
The BrisVegas Royale Casino will form the backdrop to Jim & Tonic - the musical and theatrical extravaganza presented by the Ashintosh Trust. The Trust is the fundraising arm of the University of Queensland Medical Society.
Vocalist Emma Pask, conductor Sean O`Boyle and the Queensland Medical Orchestra (QMO) will join Mr Morrison on stage.
Event coordinator Bridget Winkle said doors would open at 6.30pm and all proceeds raised would go to children`s charities including the Mater Foundation and the Ashintosh Trust.
“Jim & Tonic is back bigger and better this year after the sell-out success of last year`s concert,” Ms Winkle said.
“Come fly with us for an unforgettable night of cool tunes, swinging dance moves and exquisite food as Las Vegas comes to Bris Vegas for one night only.”
The QMO is made up of doctors and medical students who volunteer their time to raise money for charities.
“Jim & Tonic will be original, fun and will showcase the sheer brilliance of Australia`s best musical talent,” Ms Winkle said.
“The night promises to be an unforgettable mix of wining and dining, music, dancing and fun.”
