People considering boosting their qualifications and improving or changing their career will have access to a wide range of expert advice at The University of Queensland`s Postgraduate Expo.

The free event will be held from 4.30pm to 7pm tomorrow (Wednesday, November 30) at Customs House, 399 Queen Street, Brisbane.

UQ offers a range of postgraduate opportunities at many levels, including Graduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, Masters by Coursework, Masters by Research, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Professional Doctorate.

Some of the University`s leading academics will be on hand during the evening to answer questions and provide information about UQ`s flexible and career-tailored postgraduate programs.

Seminars will be held on a wide range of study areas including counselling, nursing, business, law, education and writing, editing and publishing.

Dean of Students Dr Lisa Gaffney said UQ was Queensland`s leading postgraduate institution with over 8300 higher degree students enrolled in coursework or research programs.

“The knowledge and skills gained through top quality postgraduate programs give our graduates a competitive advantage in the job market,” she said.

Dr Gaffney said many of the University`s postgraduate students were completing research higher degrees, specialising in a particular field of study.
