Australian "super chairman" James Strong (Woolworths and IAG) and Brisbane City Council CEO Jude Munro are among the speakers at this week’s CEO Summit.

Presented in association with The CEO Institute, UQ Business School’s CEO Summit will also feature Dairy Farmers Chairman Ian Langdon.

UQ Business School Professor Geoff Kiel said the CEO Summit was a unique one-day program expressly designed to meet the particular needs of CEOs and senior executives.

“In the current climate I expect the session presented by KPMG’s Gary Gill on the realities of corporate fraud to be of particular interest," he said.

“We’re lucky enough to have Bob Frater from ResMed – one of Australia’s most innovative companies – joining us to talk about ResMed’s success and what the lessons might be for Australian business more generally.

“CEO of Queensland’s technology incubator i.lab Anne-Marie Birkill and NBC Capital Managing Director Bruce Scott will address how innovation happens on the ground.

“Michael Smith (Vodaphone) and Professor Derek Hart (Mater Medical Research Institute) will talk about new technologies and the opportunities – and threats – they present and QIC’s Doug McTaggart will share his unrivalled understanding of the investment outlook for Queensland business.

“An interview with childcare entrepreneur Michael Gordon completes an outstanding program.”

Chairman of The CEO Institute (Qld) Ray Weekes said the CEO Summit provided an important opportunity for CEOs to network and learn.

“Most CEOs, despite their varying challenges and experiences, will admit that leadership can be a very solitary position at times. The CEO Summit allows Queensland business leaders to network with senior business leaders in comparable positions and to receive professional updates on major areas of business change.”

The CEO Summit will be held at the UQ Business School Downtown, Level 19, Central Plaza One, 345 Queen Street on Friday 26th August.
