The recently completed film Gallipoli will be discussed at a free public lecture at The University of Queensland on Thursday, April 28.
Turkish film director Tolga Ornek will discuss the film at the lecture on Thursday April 28, 2005 at the Abel Smith Lecture Theatre (Building No. 23), Campbell Road, St Lucia at 7pm.
Mr Ornek will show preview excerpts from the film, which is narrated by Jeremy Irons and Sam Neill.

The documentary was produced in association with the Australian War Museum, the Imperial War Museum, the New Zealand Ministry for Heritage and Culture, and the Cannakale Naval Museum in Turkey.
The lecture is presented by The University of Queensland in association with the School of History, Philosophy, Religion and Classics and the University of Queensland Alumni Association Inc.
Emeritus Professor Trevor Bryce will chair the lecture. Professor Bryce is an honorary research consultant in the School of History, Philosophy, Religion and Classics, author of The Kingdom of the Hittites and Life and Society in the Hittite World. Professor Bryce and Mr Ornek have previously collaborated on a documentary film entitled The Hittites.
